  • During the winter season (November to March): open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 17:00.
  • During Flemish school holidays and public holidays: open daily, except Mondays.

Closed on Mondays, 25 December and 1 January.

Last visit starts at 4:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

  • Last visit with a school/group starts at 3:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. (1-hour guided tour)
  • Last visit with a school/group starts at 2:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. (2-hour guided tour)

*Only valid on presentation of a valid student or teacher card.

The admission fee should preferably be paid by card at the entrance to the ship.
It is no problem to purchase a ticket on site.

You do not need to book in advance for an individual visit.
For group visits, we ask you to submit a group request.

Accessibility

To visit the Mercator, you need to be able to walk well. To enter the boat, there is a step to cross the gangway and inside the boat itself there are steep stairs and narrow corridors.

  • NOT allowed on board: dogs (except certified assistance dogs) and pushchairs
